Ordering & Delivery

How long does delivery take?

+

We offer free, tracked 48-hour delivery across the UK on every order. Orders placed before 2pm on a working day are usually dispatched the same day. You'll receive a tracking link by email as soon as your order ships.

Do you really offer free delivery on all orders?

+

Yes — free tracked delivery on every UK order, with no minimum spend. The price you see is the price you pay.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland, the Highlands and UK islands?

+

Yes, we deliver across the whole UK. Some remote postcodes may take an extra day or two — your tracking link will show the expected date.

Can I track my order?

+

Absolutely. Once your order is dispatched you'll get an email with a tracking link, so you can follow your bedding from our warehouse to your door.

What payment methods do you accept?

+

All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), PayPal, and Klarna if you'd like to spread the cost. Every payment is processed through Shopify's secure, encrypted checkout — we never see or store your card details.

Can I change or cancel my order?

+

If your order hasn't been dispatched yet, yes — email hello@stoftly.co.uk as soon as possible with your order number and we'll do our best to catch it. Once it's shipped, you can simply use our easy returns process instead.

Returns & Guarantee

What is your returns policy?

+

You have 30 days from delivery to return any unused item in its original packaging for a full refund. We keep the process simple — no lengthy forms, no quibbling. See our Returns & Refunds page for step-by-step instructions.

How do I start a return?

+

Email hello@stoftly.co.uk with your order number and the item you'd like to return. We'll reply with everything you need. Refunds are processed within a 15 days of your return arriving back with us.

Can I return bedding if I've opened the packaging?

+

For hygiene reasons, duvets, pillows, toppers and protectors need to be unused and in their original packaging to be returned — the same standard you'd want for bedding arriving at your home. If something's wrong with your item, that's different: faulty products are always covered, used or not.

What if my item arrives damaged or faulty?

+

We'll put it right, quickly. Send a photo and your order number to hello@stoftly.co.uk and we'll arrange a replacement or full refund — whichever you prefer. Faulty items never count against the standard returns conditions.

What does "Comfort, Guaranteed" mean?

+

It means we stand behind every product we sell. If your bedding doesn't meet the quality you expected, contact us and we'll sort it — replacement, exchange or refund. Sleep should never be a gamble.

Duvets & Togs

What tog duvet do I need?

+

Tog measures how well a duvet traps warmth — the higher the number, the warmer the duvet. As a rule of thumb for UK homes: 4.5 tog for summer, 10.5 tog for spring/autumn (and the best all-rounder if you only want one duvet), and 13.5–15 tog for winter or cold bedrooms. Hot sleepers should go a step lower; cold sleepers a step higher.

What's the difference between 10.5 tog and 13.5 tog?

+

Roughly one season of warmth. A 10.5 tog suits most UK bedrooms from March to November and works year-round in well-insulated modern homes. A 13.5 tog is noticeably warmer — ideal for winter, older draughtier houses, or anyone who feels the cold at night.

Are your duvets suitable for allergy sufferers?

+

Yes — our duvets use a soft, non-allergenic microfibre filling rather than feathers, making them a safe choice for most allergy-prone and sensitive sleepers.

What size duvet should I buy?

+

Match your duvet to your bed size: single (135×200cm), double (200×200cm), king (230×220cm), super king (260×220cm). One trick hotels use: going one size up (a king duvet on a double bed) gives a fuller, more luxurious drape — and ends midnight duvet tug-of-war for couples.

Mattress Toppers & Protectors

Should I choose a 5cm or 10cm mattress topper?

+

Choose 5cm if your mattress is basically comfortable and you just want a softer, plusher surface. Choose 10cm if your mattress is firm, tired or ageing and you want a deep, sink-in comfort layer that genuinely changes how the bed feels. When in doubt, most customers who want the "hotel bed" feeling go for 10cm.

Will the topper stay in place?

+

Yes — every Stoftly topper has elasticated corner straps that hold it securely to your mattress, so it won't slide or bunch during the night.

What's the difference between a mattress topper and a mattress protector?

+

A topper adds comfort — it's a thick quilted layer that changes how your bed feels. A protector adds protection — a thin quilted or waterproof layer that shields your mattress from spills, sweat and stains, extending its life. Many customers use both: protector on the mattress, topper on top, sheet over everything.

Are your waterproof protectors noisy or crinkly?

+

No. Our waterproof protectors use a quilted top with a soft waterproof membrane underneath — the protection is there, but you won't hear or feel a plasticky crinkle when you move.

Can I wash a mattress topper?

+

Check your product's care label — most of our protectors are fully machine washable at 40°C, while toppers vary by size (larger toppers may need a bigger-drum machine or a launderette). Spot cleaning handles most everyday marks on toppers.

Pillows & Bedding Care

How often should I replace my pillows?

+

Every 1–2 years for most synthetic pillows. If you fold your pillow in half and it stays folded rather than springing back, it's ready for retirement. Flat pillows stop supporting your neck properly — it's one of the cheapest sleep upgrades there is.

Are bamboo pillows good for hot sleepers?

+

Yes — bamboo-derived covers are naturally breathable and wick moisture better than standard covers, which keeps the surface of the pillow cooler through the night. If you regularly flip your pillow looking for the cool side, bamboo is for you.

How do I wash my duvet cover set?

+

Machine wash at 40°C with similar colours, tumble dry low. Our covers are chosen for easy care — minimal ironing needed, and the dyes are fixed so colours stay true wash after wash.

How often should I wash my bedding?

+

Duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases: weekly, or fortnightly at most. Pillows and duvets themselves: 2–3 times a year. Protectors: monthly. Regular washing keeps allergens down and genuinely helps you sleep better — there's a reason fresh-sheets night feels so good.

Sizes & Fit

What are standard UK bedding sizes?

+

Duvets and covers: single 135×200cm, double 200×200cm, king 230×220cm, super king 260×220cm. Pillowcases: 50×75cm standard. Fitted sheets and protectors should match your mattress size and depth — if you use a mattress topper, choose extra-deep fitted sheets (30cm+) to cover both.

Will your fitted sheets fit a mattress with a topper on it?

+

Our deep-fit sheets are cut generously to handle most mattress-plus-topper combinations. Check the listed depth on each product page against your mattress + topper height.

Do you sell divan base covers in all sizes?

+

Yes — our crushed velvet divan base covers come in standard UK divan sizes with elasticated edges for a neat, tucked fit. They're the quickest way to make an old divan base match a styled bedroom.
